Night time pics

I used to post a lot of pictures of Sweet Pea on the changing table, this is one from a year ago…

and here’s 2 from last night!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Tom
This morning Penny was excited to wish Grandpa Tom a happy birthday! She made him a beautiful card that she colored herself. She then proceeded to play with it and her favorite toys- her sit and ride lion, her shopping basket and in her house. Love you Grandpa tom, can’t wait to skype! Have a great day!

Since Penny hasn’t been feeling too well
we haven’t been doing too much, so here a few pics from the past few days. I’m happy to say, I think Penny is feeling a little better today, no fever and she slept through the night last night. Here’s hoping she sleeps through tonight as well, I forgot how hard it is waking up every 2 hours!
Penny ate the other day for the first time her Great Grandma’s Garlic Cashew Chicken (though without the cashews), it was a hit!

Haven’t posted a bath time pic in a while, so here’s one from last night

Penny was excited to get her first Halloween card of the year today, thanks Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob!!

Poor Penny
has been sick all weekend. Her molars are coming in, and this is the first time that teething is really affecting her. She’s been running a temp all weekend and is just miserable. Hopefully the molars will come through soon!

A little gardening
Thanks to our good friend Peter, we are now the proud owners of a lemon grass plant. Steve, Penny and I planted it over the weekend, and hopefully Penny has inherited her grandparents green thumbs and the plant will flourish! It looks pretty dead at the moment, but apparently in a month or 2, if all goes well, it will be big and healthy! Here’s hoping Penny gets some authentic Thai food soon!

Enjoying a spring afternoon
Now that Penny is older, she loves to play. She has recently found that she loves running down hills and luckily enough we have one in the front yard for her. What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!

WHEEEE!!!!!!

More Pucon
We did some fabulous sightseeing while we were in Pucon.

But, I think Penelope’s (and my) favorite thing was the thermal springs. We spent the afternoon lounging in the warm pools and Penny practiced her swimming. She did really good at floating and loved putting her head and face in the water. Now we have to teach her to blow bubbles!

This next photo is not the mist flattering, and I normally HATE bathing suit pictures, but I love the expressions on our faces. There were stairs leading down into the river, so you could go from FREEZING cold mountain water right into the hot pools. We got a video of Steve going into the river which we will have to post later!!

Luisa is in town!
Luisa is a good friend of ours who moved to Australia 2 years ago and makes it back to La Serena once a year. We were lucky enough to get to hang out with her over the weekend and then we met up for coffee this morning. Penny and Jack stayed home with Senora Carmen, but they were happy that Luisa came over to visit them afterwards. It was great seeing Luisa, and hopefully Penny will get to see her again soon!
