Yesterday, Penny helped me make lunch.

She helped do the shopping-

She helped do the cooking-

And she helped do the eating!  We made Indian Butter Chicken, and she loved it!

Pretty Penny

On Sunday Penny and I threw Jack, Chris and Rikki a going away party.  The party was a big success and everyone had a great time.  Penny wore a pretty party dress but quickly found the dirt to play in.  Unfortunately I didn’t take many pictures, hopefully I’ll get some from our friends (hint hint).

Some days are better than others

Though Steve left today for the states, I had an awesome day with Penny.  On Friday night we went to a barbecue for our friend Aurea.  Penny was up until almost 9 playing with her friends and I wasn’t sure what to expect for today.  Penny woke up at 9, which by itself is amazing, but then she took almost a 3 1/2 hour nap this afternoon.  When she wasn’t sleeping she was in a great mood playing and talking.  At one point she picked up one of her letter books and said “X”, which was the correct letter.  We also had a fun evening playing at the park with Leyna and Penny’s friends.  Penny skyped with Steve, Grams & Grandpa Tom and our friend Veronica before going to bed- which also went very smoothly.  She hasn’t made a peep all night and I was able to relax have a glass of wine, do some cleaning and some cooking.  Here’s hoping that tomorrow goes as nicely!!

When we went to the park, Penny wanted to bring her shopping cart-

Apparently, I wasn’t allowed to put my things in it, she only wanted her sipee cup and ball in it! (little stinker)

On the way, we stopped and said hi to Josephina, who Penny LOVES!

Once at the park, Penny headed right to the see-saw.  Penny sat herself down then stood up then sat down then stood up (you get the idea) to try to get it to move.  It’s so neat to watch her trying to figure out the world!

She then found some of Jack’s toys to play with

Then headed over to the slide thing and is now able to climb up and go down the slide with no help at all.  She actually gets pissed if you try to help her and yells at you!

Now that summer is here

and the sun sets late (though yesterday it wasn’t too sunny), we’re able to head down to the beach for a walk when Steve gets home from work.  Penny loves to sit and watch the waves crash while Leyna runs around.  For me, life can’t get much better!

Birthday party!

On Friday Penny went to her friend Ezequiel’s 5th birthday party and had a blast.  It was held at the casino in the kids room and Penny had so much fun, she now wants to have her 2nd birthday party there!

Lego wagon

One of Penny’s new found places of fun is her lego wagon  She loves sitting in it and playing with the legos.

Happy Halloween!!!

We had a wonderful Halloween celebrating with our friends!  Penny was very excited to go trick or treating, though she didn’t quite understand the concept and tried giving back the candy people put in her pumpkin!
