For our first camping trip, we decided not to rough it, and went to Playa Blanca, which is a full service camping ground. Â We went with our friends Rikki, Chris and Jack, and had a wonderful time. Â Penny really seemed to enjoy her first camping trip, especially hanging out at the beach. Â Here are some pics from day 1.

Since Steve was up on the mountain observing last week, he was able to take a few days off this week. Â To celebrate on Tues, we headed into the valley for some fun. Â Before we left, dad got to feed Penny for the first time, and did really good, as did Penny. Â She’s starting to get the hang of eating, and sometimes even seems to enjoy it.

We then headed to one of our favorite restaurants Los Hornitos del Molle, for our lunch.

After lunch we brought Penny to the zoo to see the animals. Â Her favorite part of the zoo, was the new “La Serena Aquarium”, which was basically a shack with some fish tanks in it. Â Not too impressive after seeing the Atlanta Aquarium, but still fun.

Day 3 of eating food is going much better. Â She’s eating more and more of the sopa though she has yet to eat dessert. Â This is not my kid!! Â Well, to be honest, the desserts are only pureed fruit, maybe if I was to cover in chocolate sauce, hmmm…..

Today was our weekly play group, so Penny and I spent the afternoon at the park. Â

Below pic is from last week. Â She saw her friend Jack standing at the jungle gym and wanted to try it out too. Â She did really good, though was more interested in eating the jungle gym.
This week she was much sturdier when she stood at the jungle gym and even held on to 2 different bars, though she still wanted to eat it.

We then ended our day with a nice walk around the recinto, some play time with Leyna and a phone call to dad.
Penny was so sad today because her dad left for the mountain, I decided to do something extra special with her. Â We spent the afternoon at the beach with some friends and relaxed in the nice fresh air. Â Penny had a great time though as soon as I put her in the sand, she grabbed a handful and out it in her mouth. Â Why isn’t she so excited to eat her food? Â
