Amo mi pulpo!!!!!

November 18th, 2008

While we were in Atlanta visiting Steve’s parents, we went to the Atlanta aquarium.  Penelope loved it, and we had a great time looking at all the sea creatures, she especially liked the octopus and the whale sharks.

Much to Penny’s delight, when we got home form the aquarium, there was a package waiting for her from our friends Joanna and Rob, and in it was this awesome homemade present-

Thanks Auntie Jo, I love it!!!!!!!!

(Trip update and photos to come…)

Poor Sweet Pea

November 18th, 2008

Poor Penny has been feeling a little under the weather today after getting her vaccinations yesterday.  She ran a slight fever all night, and has been sleeping off and on all day today.  It’s cloudy and cool today, so we’re spending the day snuggling on the couch with Leyna and reading some books.  Here are a couple cut pics I took today while we were all relaxing.

“I love you Leynadog, you’re my best friend!!!”

Look what I found…

Happy Halloween

October 31st, 2008

Penelope’s first trip home to the US coincided with one of my most favorite times of year, fall and halloween.  Penelope has celebrated both for the past month, though I don’t think she had as much fun as me!!!!

Giggle Giggle Giggle

October 30th, 2008

Penelope has started to giggle occasionally, and we can even get her into extended giggle sessions at rare times. Luckily, we caught one such time on tape. Just try and not giggle yourself. Enjoy.  Continue on below to see the video.

PJ, super-cute, jet-setting, world traveler.

October 19th, 2008

Not everyone gets to travel from continent to continent, and certainly not before their 3rd month!!  But then again, Penelope isn’t just an ordinary little girl.

Lucky for us and the people around us, she has been a wonderful traveler, mostly sleeping throughout the journey.  I think she did better than Lisa and I on the overnight flight from Santiago.

Penelope’s first flight!

So exciting!!

Bored waiting at the gate…

Riding the train at DFW.  Wheeee…

September Photo Album

October 6th, 2008

We’re having a great time in the United States so far, visiting family and friends in Connecticut.  We’re taking lots of pictures and even video, and either Lisa or I will blog all about it at some point.  Until then, here are a bunch of pictures from last months activities over on our Picasa web album site.  Enjoy.

Sorry Grandma, my parents sometimes stink…

September 24th, 2008

Penelope is very disgusted at the moment with us.

She just wants to hide.

She can’t believe we didn’t call Grandma on her birthday.

She keeps giving us the evil eye.

She just wanted to say, “Happy belated birthday grandma!!”

“I can’t wait to see you in October and give you a big hug!!!!”

Feliz Fiestas Patrias Chile (a little late)

September 24th, 2008

Last Thursday, Sept 18, started a weekend of fiestas and asados.  The 18th also known as dieciocho, was Independence Day here and Friday was Glory of the Navy’s Day.

We had a great time at all the parties, though we only have pictures from Saturday.  Though Steve and I wore jeans, Penny was dressed in her beautiful dress (thanks again Lori!!), and was the hit of the party.

Penelope has started noticing her hands more and more and has found that she loves to pull on our hair.

There were many games being played at the party, Penny loved the water balloon toss and can’t wait to participate in a few years.

It was a beautiful day. and we were so happy that we brought a blanket to lay and snooze on together.

We ate a ton of great choris and meat all weekend, Penny had to make do with her hand…

At the end of the Saturday, we were all tired and ready to go home and relax after 3 wonderful days celebrating with our friends.

On Sunday, our Friend Nick came in for an observing run that started Monday.  He was supposed to get in on Saturday, but his flight was cancelled.  Since Sunday was his only day in La Serena to see things, we tried to hit everything,  We went to La Feria (farmers market), downtown La Serena, La Recova, had Pisco sours on the beach, went to Coquimbo to the fort and then headed into the valley to the dam and out to a parillada.  Penelope did great all day, and loved getting to meet Nick.  We all hope he can come down again, though next time, we hope his wife April can come too!!

Aaaaahh Goooooooo!

September 23rd, 2008

Penelope is becoming more and more expressive every day. She loves her changing table and is always smiling and babbling up a storm. Here’s a video of her from the other day.

Don’t put real text here.
