Alfajores

Penny and I went downtown to watch a folkloric dance parade today but when we got there we found out it had been canceled because of last nights rain.  So we wandered around with our friends instead and went shopping at all the little stands.  Our friend Rosie bought us all alfajores which Penny LOVED!  She kept asking for “mas chocolate”.

Mommy’s Little Helper

is getting so big and helpful now.  Not only does Penny enjoy shopping at La Feria with me, she also likes to help carry the produce!  DSC05435

Today, Penny also helped make lunch-cream of broccoli soup (with fresh broc from the market) and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, yum!  For dessert Penny ate 2 kiwi’s, which she loved!  She shoved almost the whole first one in her mouth and as she was chewing was asking for more!

After lunch, Penny played with some of her toys and was acting goofy, as always!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

On Friday we celebrated Daddy’s birthday.  Steve was able to take some time off from work, so we spent the day together.  Penny had a ton of fun celebrating, though she slept through the party on Friday night!  Happy birthday, I love you!!!

Birthday fun

Penny went to her friend Brenda’s 6th birthday party over the weekend.  Penny had a great time playing with all the big kids though maybe I’m a little old fashioned but I remember little kids birthday parties as very innocent as in car themed or my little pony themed, Brenda’s was Hannah Montana themed complete with sound system for karaoking and a table with a lady doing hair, make up, tattoo’s and nails!  The little girls got to dress up like Hannah Montana and sing to her songs.  Let me tell you, that these little 6 year olds put me to shame.  While I don’t even know one song of hers, they knew every song (mind you in english, which is amazing in itself) and were able to do complex dances.  I was impressed!  I can’t imagine in 4 years Penny will be doing the same!  What a fun party!
