I’m sure all babies go through this stage at some time, but let me tell you how happy I am that Steve is home. Â While Steve was gone, dinner time has become a PAIN! Â For some reason, Penny has started putting her hands in her mouth while she’s eating and then spreads the food all over her face and head. Â As if that isn’t bad enough, she also gags herself while eating. Â It can get on my last nerve and I’m happy to say, Steve got to experience it tonight. Â I made us all a nice turkey barley stew for dinner and it was a disaster! Â You would think this is how we feed Penny-

just dump the food on her head. Â No, she gets fed normally, with a spoon. Â Though tonight, nobody seemed very thrilled with dinner time (and my stew was YUMMY!!).

Finally Steve got some food in the mouth and then, this is what she does-

We did find, while I was taking the pictures and Penny was distracted, she ate the rest of the food without incident and actually seemed to enjoy it. Â Luckily, she eats her lunch which is her big meal without any problem. Â Mainly she hates dinner. Â I can’t really complain, it’s not always like this (hopefully she’ll outgrow this fast) and overall I am lucky to have such a happy baby. Â After dinner she had bath time with dad, which I throughly enjoyed watching. Â Steve is a great dad!!

Both Steve and Penny are now fast asleep and I’m relaxing with a glass of wine. Â Perfect end to an evening!
On Monday, Penelope put on a pretty dress and got ready to go pick up Steve at the airport. Â I tried to get a good picture of her before we left, but as she’s gotten older it is harder for her to stay still for a photo. Â The below are the best ones-
(Did you notice Penny’s new tooth, she now has 3 on the bottom, still none up top though)

While Penny was taking a nap, Steve and I went out for a nice lunch and did a little birthday shopping for Pen. Â We ended up giving her an early birthday gift, she has to wait until her birthday to get the rest!
(Penny really enjoyed helping her dad put it together)
Today, Penny was invited to her friend Anais’s birthday party. Â It was held down at the beach. Â In the States I don’t remember having many places like this, but most of the restaurants on the beach have play areas for kids with those big inflatable jumping room, walls and trampolines. Â The place the party was at, had a tent you could rent for the afternoon and the kids were able to play on all the stuff. Â This was the first time that Penny was actually able to partake in the inflatable fun, and she wasn’t too sure about it. Â She kind of just sat in 1 place and waved her arms like a maniac. Â Luckily, she had Jack to show her the ropes, and she ended up crawling around a bit. Â After the party we went to the casino for some pizza (actually, I had pizza and Penny had whole wheat toast and avocado). Â It was really nice to be able to sit together and eat together. Â I had a great day with little Penny Jean!

On Saturday we went t o our friend Katja’s baby shower. Â Penny had a blast playing with her friends and I had a great time to. Â I made the cake for the baby shower. Â It looked much better in person and tasted yummy!!

On Monday we hosted lunch and mah jongg, and of course Penny’s friends came too. Â It’s much easier to play mah jongg now since the babies have started playing with each other!

On Monday night Penny came to my Pilates class and had a fun work out with the little ball while we were using the big balls.

Then this morning we went with Veronica to our friend Marcelo’s riding school and volunteered. Â Marcelo has set up a program every Tuesday for the local autism school to bring the kids to his farm and to teach them to ride horses. Â There were 22 kids aged 7-18 and they all seemed to really enjoy horseback riding. Â It was amazing to see in the span of a few minutes on the horses the changes in the kids. Â We had a great time with them leading the horses around and can’t wait to go back next Tuesday. Â

Not sure what else we have planned for the week, but we can’t wait for Steve to come home!
