Thanks Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob for the cool bike, with Grams’ help I can use it, I bet next year I’ll be able to use it all by myself! Â LOVE YOU!
After the Science Museum we headed over to Westmore Park where Penny could see some animals and run around. Â It was a beautiful afternoon and we all had a great time!
On Friday morning while Grandpa Tom was at work, we headed to the Children’s Museum in West Hartford. Â I went there numerous times as a child and remember fondly playing in the whale and the hands-on room. Â We had a great time, though it feels like it hasn’t really improved much in the past 30 years. Â The whale is still there as is the downstairs playroom with the shadow wall, the planetarium is still running and we were lucky enough to go to a children’s showing with Big Bird as the announcer- Penny loved it! Â Unfortunately the hands-on room is gone replaced with a toy room that is uneducational and kinda boring. Â Penny liked it- it had a play kitchen and slide in it, but those are things she gets to play with daily. Â In the end, Penny had a blast, so that is all that matters!
On Thursday after going to lunch with Grandpa Tom and meeting his work friends we stopped at Bushnell park on the way home. Â Penny loved the carousel and has been nonstop talking about the “horseys that go round and round and up and down”. Â Bushnell Park is in Hartford and has a beautiful carousel that was built in the early 19oo’s and has a play ground as well. Â It was the perfect day to play outside and ride the carousel. Â We had so much fun that we’re planning on going with Grandpa Tom too!
Nothing says summer at the Foley’s like Grams’ zucchini pancakes. Â Penny is becoming quite the little cook and learned how to make them the other night. Â They were delicious!
