Catching up on Atlanta

while we were visiting with the Margheim’s we were able to go to Fernbank Museum of Natural History.  Penelope really enjoyed seeing all the dinosaurs and animals as did the adults.  There was a great interactive room that Penny had fun exploring.  To top off our wonderful day, we then headed on for lunch at The Varsity, a well known Atlanta diner.  What a perfect day!

Granny Love

While in Atlanta not only did Penny love visiting with her grandparents, but she also was able to visit with her great-grandma, “Granny”.  Penny had so much fun playing at Granny’s, Granny even threw her a belated birthday party.  We can’t wait to go back to visit everyone!  Thanks again Granny for such a nice time!!

Penny’s favorite mode of transportation, getting a ride from Granny-

Penny was happy to find that Granny’s complex had some games-

Granny found that Penny was a little to heavy to push so Penny made do and grabbed on to Granny while they walked around-

I love this picture!  I think it shows how much fun Penny and Granny are having together and how happy they make each other!

My new camera has this neat function that allows you to pick one color to focus on then the rest in black and white- here was my first attempt-

Bandit

While we were in Atlanta, Penny got to meet Grandma and Grandpa’s dog Bandit.  They became fast friends and loved playing with each other and all their toys.  Penny’s favorite part was playing in Bandit’s crate.  Miss you Bandit!

Callaway Gardens

Over Labor Day weekend, while we were in Georgia, we were lucky enough to go to Callaway Gardens which had it’s annual hot air balloon festival (thank you again, Mary Jane and Terry!)  We had an amazing time- we got to ride in a hot air balloon, we saw thousands of butterflies, beautiful flora and fauna, and got to all be together.  It was a magical experience that we all enjoyed especially seeing it through Penelope’s eyes.  She is still talking about the “hot air balloon that goes up and down, wheeee” daily.  Hope you enjoy the pics!

A post from CT

While we were home visiting my parents we were lucky enough to get to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.  To celebrate we went to Great Grandma’s for the afternoon, where she broke into her secret champagne stash that she thought was at least 50 years old.  Unfortunately the champagne had gone bad but we had a great time together.  We then headed to the Hopkins Inn for a nice dinner.  The only bad part of the day was that it was pouring rain but we had a great time all together and since we don’t get much rain here in Chile it was a nice change.
