What is the best thing about turning 2?
Waking up the day after your birthday and getting to play with all your new toys! A favorite of Penny’s is her baking set, which Grandpa Tom and Penny already put to use and made cupcakes this evening!
Happy 2nd Birthday Penelope Jean!!
Penny, Grandpa Tom, Nana and I went off into the valley to celebrate Penny’s birthday today. Following last year’s tradition we went to the zoo and out to lunch. We had a wonderful time together in the sun. Penny loved seeing all the animals, especially the birds and monkeys. For her birthday lunch she had a cheese empanada and some ribs, with chocolate ice cream for dessert, YUM!!! While we were gone Daddy decorated the house for our party at night. Penny was happy she was able to celebrate with Grams, Grandma and Grandpa Margheim and Granny over skype! They got to see her open presents and enjoy her yummy birthday cake. A wonderful day was had by all and now Penny is fast asleep dreaming I’m sure of her wonderful day today. Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes! Happy Birthday Penelope!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Penny has been following the world cup and is so happy that USA just won their game and are advancing to the next round!! USA!!!!!
One of Grandpa Tom’s favorite things to do
is go to the market with Penny. They had a wonderful time picking out the fruit and veggies together, and then got to enjoy some fresh cream of broccoli soup. Grandpa Tom also got to give Penny a bath, what is better than that?!
Fun at the beach with Grandpa Tom
Penny is having a great time with Grandpa Tom. On Saturday after Penny’s nap we headed down to the beach for some fun. Penny and Grandpa Tom had fun running around on the beach, watching the waves, building sand castles and playing with Leyna. We then headed over to El Grifo where Grandpa Tom and I had coffee while Penny played on the equipment. What a great afternoon!!
On a side note
though we are so thrilled that Grandpa Tom is here, Penny wanted to make sure Grams knew she was missed! Can’t wait to see you in August!!
Grandpa Tom is here!!
We are all so excited that Grandpa Tom made it here yesterday. He will be visiting us for almost 3 weeks, and Penny is so happy to get to spend so much time with Pa Tom. Grandpa Tom came at the perfect time, since Steve had to go up to the mountain yesterday for 4 days. Luckily for us, a big storm has moved in, flooding La Serena and dumping a ton of snow at the observatory. So much snow that Steve was evacuated from the mountain this morning, and got to come home! Keep looking for new posts, we will have plenty to share with you!
